Attic Insulation Removal & Replacement in Broward County, FL

Rodent damage, storm leaks, mold, or just decades-old material that stopped working — our one-visit removal-and-replacement service takes it out safely, cleans the attic, and installs fresh blown-in insulation the same day.

When Insulation Needs to Come Out — Not Be Covered Up

Most attics just need a top-up. But sometimes the honest answer is that the old material has to go first:

🐀 Rodent or pest contamination

Rats and raccoons nest in attic insulation and leave droppings and urine behind. Covering that with new insulation seals in the contamination and the smell. It needs to come out.

💧 Water damage

After a roof leak or storm damage, wet insulation loses its insulating value and can grow mold in Florida humidity. Wet sections should be removed before anything new goes in.

🕰️ Very old or deteriorated material

Insulation from decades past can be compressed to near-uselessness, full of dust and debris, or simply the wrong material for our climate.

🔨 Before a renovation

Re-roofing, ductwork replacement, or major electrical work often calls for a clean, empty attic to work in — and a fresh install after.

How Removal Works

Inspection & honest assessment

We look at the whole attic and tell you what actually needs to be removed — sometimes it's everything, often it's only sections.

Sealed vacuum removal

Old insulation is vacuumed out through a sealed hose into bags outside your home — not carried through your hallway in loose armfuls.

Clean & sanitize

The attic floor is cleaned of debris and droppings, and treated where contamination was present.

Fresh insulation installed

New blown-in insulation to R-30–R-38, usually the same day — one visit, done.

What Attic Insulation Removal Costs in Broward County

Attic insulation removal in Broward County costs $1–$1.50 per square foot on top of the new insulation, and most full removal-and-replacement jobs run $3,000–$5,000. Straight numbers, same as we quote in person — the free inspection turns them into an exact price for your attic:

Removal only

$1–$1.50 per sq ft added on top of the new install — covers vacuum-out, bagging, and haul-away. Depends on depth and condition of the old material.

Removal + new insulation

$3,000–$5,000 for a typical Broward home — old material out, attic cleaned and sanitized, fresh blown-in to R-30–R-38, one visit.

No removal needed?

If your old insulation is dry and clean, a straight top-up is the cheaper answer — $1,500–$3,000 for most homes. See the full 2026 cost guide.

We'll tell you honestly which one your attic needs — with photos, before any work is scheduled. If removal isn't necessary, we'll say so.

After a Rodent Problem: What Actually Has to Happen

This is the most common reason Broward attics need removal. Rats and raccoons nest in the insulation and leave droppings and urine through it — and new insulation blown over the top just seals the contamination (and the smell) into your ceiling.

Pest company first

Trapping and sealing the entry points is pest-control work — if you don't have a company yet, we can point you to ones we work with, and we coordinate timing with them.

Contaminated insulation out

Sealed vacuum straight to bags outside — droppings, nesting material, and the affected insulation leave together. Nothing gets carried through your home.

Clean, sanitize, and refill

The attic floor is cleaned and treated, then fresh blown-in insulation goes in — your attic ends the day better insulated than before the rats showed up.

Removal Is Step One — a Properly Insulated Attic Is the Job

How a replacement job ends: old material gone, fresh blown-in at full depth, ducts sitting clear on top.

Most insulation removal companies in Broward are either pest operators or demolition-style crews — we come at it from the other side. We're an attic insulation company first: removal is what clears the way when old material can't be saved. Every removal we do ends the same way — a clean attic brought up to the R-30–R-38 level South Florida homes need, measured with a depth ruler and photographed. One company, one visit, done. That's also why it pays to have the same crew do both: no coordination gap between the company that removes and the company that installs, and one person responsible for the final result.

Removal & Replacement FAQ

What does insulation removal cost?
Removal typically adds $1–$1.50 per square foot on top of the new insulation install, depending on how much material there is and its condition. A full removal-and-replace job for a typical Broward home usually lands in the $3,000–$5,000 range. Exact quote after the free inspection.
Can't you just put new insulation over the old?
If the old material is dry and clean — yes, and that's the cheaper option we'll recommend. Removal is only for contaminated, wet, or badly deteriorated insulation. We'll show you photos and let you decide.
Is the removal messy?
No — the insulation travels through a sealed vacuum hose directly to collection bags outside. Your living space stays protected and we clean up completely.
Do you handle the rodent problem too?
We remove the contaminated insulation, clean and sanitize, and can seal the entry gaps we find. Active infestations should be handled by a pest control company first — we're happy to coordinate the timing with them.
How long does attic insulation removal take?
Most Broward homes take 3–5 hours for removal, cleaning, and the fresh install — one visit. Larger attics or heavy contamination can run a full day. Either way you're not living in a construction site: it's done when we leave.
What about very old insulation — could it contain asbestos?
If your home was insulated before the 1990s with a loose, pebble-like gray-gold material (vermiculite), it may contain asbestos and we will NOT disturb it — that requires lab testing first and, if positive, a licensed asbestos abatement company. We'll identify it during the free inspection and point you in the right direction. Standard fiberglass and cellulose — the vast majority of Broward attics — contain no asbestos and are safe for normal removal.
Do you replace the insulation after rodent removal?
Yes — that's the point of doing it as one job. After the contaminated material is vacuumed out and the attic is cleaned and sanitized, we install fresh blown-in insulation to R-30–R-38 the same visit, and you get before/after photos of the whole process.

Not sure if yours needs removal or just a top-up? We'll tell you straight.
